Black September is a reference to a restructuring of the entire Ultraverse universe.
Countdown to Black September[]
The UltraForce storyline that leads to Black September begins with Black Knight's arrival in the Ultraverse from Earth-616, leading to a crossover with the Avengers and a conflict over the Infinity Gems. There were five parts to the "Countdown" published through Malibu, though Marvel published a part of the story between the fourth and fifth parts:
