Synopsis for "Safety Net"

In a suburban playground, a slovenly overweight man in a garish costume approaches a young boy claiming to be a member of the X-Men. Despite the boy's protests, the man attempts to lead him away but is stopped by real X-Men. Wolverine picks the man up and threatens to impale him with his claws, while Jubilee approaches the boy and asks his name. The boy introduces himself as Terrence, and Jubilee and the other X-Men give him some sage advice on stranger-danger.

When Terrence is only left confused, Jubilee tells him that when she first started attending Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters she'd been lonely and homesick, making the mistake of sneaking out by herself. Quickly finding herself lost in an unfamiliar neighborhood, she was approached by a seemingly sweet elderly couple who unsubtly attempted to lure her into their vehicle. Spotting a nearby policeman, Jubilee decided to ask him for advice instead and the couple drove away in a panic. The police officer escorted Jubilee back to the school, where she was safely reunited with the other X-Men.

When Jubilee's tale concludes, Beast begins a tale of his own regarding a young friend named Jimmy, who received a phone call from a stranger while watching his favorite cartoon. When the stranger asked if he was alone and where he lived, Beast used a prototype holographic projector to make it appear as though he was stepping out of the television and warned Jimmy not to give away personal information to strangers.

Cyclops concludes with a final piece of advice - to never let anyone know you're home alone, and to just say your parents are unavailable and you'll take a message. Finally understanding the importance of avoiding contact with strangers, Terrence thanks the X-Men and promises to use their advice every day.
