Notes

  • Part 5 of the Subterranean Wars storyline that ran through several Avengers-related annuals in 1991.
  • In the story "A Wasp in Hollywood", the following actors are considered to portray the Avengers: Arnold Schwarzburger as Thor (but there's a salary dispute with him), Lou Ferrigno as the Hulk (but Universal "has dibs on the Hulk"), Sylvester Stallone as Iron Man (but he's in pre-production with "Rocky Rips Rambo") and either Winona Ryder or Paula Abdul as Janet Van Dyne/The Wasp (thou she thinks she looked more like Jackie Kennedy), with Steven Spielberg directing. By the time of publication, Lou Ferrigno had already played the Hulk in multiple TV productions; he later voiced the Hulk again in the Incredible Hulk 1996 animated series, the films Hulk 2003 film and The Incredible Hulk (2008), and was part of the voice collaboration for the Hulk in Marvel's The Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron. Sylvester Stallone eventually played Stakar Ogord (a version of Marvel's Starhawk) in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017) and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023). Winona Ryder, Paula Abdul and Steven Spielberg have not been yet involved in Marvel projects (and Arnold Schwarzburger is a fictional character).
