Synopsis for "A Thousand Years"Edit

A scientist tests his suspended animation machine on his cat. He wants to go into suspended animation for a thousand years to avoid all the signs that he feels indicate civilization will collapse. The machine works and he is apprehended by giant cats. They tell him that they have put all humans to death and are going to execute him. They take him to a museum because the killing machines only exist in museums now and he sees the prototype he used on his cat and asks his captors about it. They tell him that it was the device that gave the first of their kind true intelligence.

Synopsis for "Top Billing"Edit

Smith, of the comedy team Sprinkle and Smith, resents that he gets second billing so he plans to murder his partner and get a new one. After he sets fire to the room to eliminate the body, he finds that he is locked in. The funeral staff regret the tragedy, but they know the comedy partners would be happy with their tombstone which reads "Here Lie the Remains of Sprinkle and Smith".

Synopsis for "Roll Call"Edit

A man watching a fight on TV hears three names called out, the last one his. He gets up to visit the woman up the street to see if he has won some kind of contest, but the woman is dead, so he decides to visit the next name on the list a man he knows. As he approaches him, the man is struck and killed by a car. He becomes frightened and returns home to his wife but she is crying and there is a doctor in the house. They pay him no heed and he realizes that he is a ghost since his heart gave out by being too excited by the fight on TV. The names he heard were the roll call of...Death.
