History
Arachne is the Spider-Goddess from the Greek Mythology. She appeared in New York City after Hercules became infested with the Spider-Island Virus.
Trivia
In Greek mythology, Arachne was a mortal woman with the hubris to compare herself to Athena as a weaver. Versions differ as to which won the spinning contest, but whether as solace or punishment, Athena transformed the mortal into the first spider, leaving to spin freely all her existence.
