Quote1 Gladiator isn't here right now. Can I take a message? You didn't steal my faith, you simpletons. You simply provided me with a powerful, mature physicality that is more than capable of channeling it. Quote2

Synopsis for 1st story

S.W.O.R.D. spots Kree Sentries position in orbit of Earth, aiming their weapons at North America. Cutting down to the surface, both the Avengers and Annihilators are in the midst of engaging Universal Church of Truth forces and take notice of the Kree forces. Ronan the Accuser explains that if Magus can't be contained, they may as well annihilate the planet. Quasar objects but Gladiator supports the decision, stating that sacrifices have to be made. Spider-Man points out that if they shut off the Belief Font, they may be able to ever Magus' source of power but Ronan blows off that idea. Yet Iron Man pleads Ronan to give human one last chance.

Down in the detention block, Valkyrie is engaged in a debate with the child Magus over the rights of the divine. Magus knows she cannot bring herself to kill him without sacrificing her own principles. He then summons his human thralls to aid the Church against the heroes.

Meanwhile, Gladiator decides that instead of destroying the font, he can redirect the faith energy by throwing himself in. Magus senses this and his child both disintegrates, with his consciousness being completely drawn into Gladiator. The Annihilators react by containing Gladiator and throwing him into the font as Ronan uses the Universal Weapon to contain Magus' consciousness within a modified Kree Sentry with faith receptors and his regenerative cocoon, freeing Gladiator. With their leader contained, the UCT obeys Captain America's order to flee or be destroyed.

In the denouement, the UCT has departed Earth, the population is back to normal, human collaborators are being arrested by S.W.O.R.D. and aliens are being shipped to Kree worlds. The Annihilators volunteer to take Magus with them, for the good of the universe. As the Annihilators depart, Cap reminds Quasar to know where to draw the line where his teammates won't. Quasar states he's doing just that. The Annihilators then take Magus back to Knowhere, where they plan on containing him at The Rip until they find a more permanent solution.

The demand was so high, Mojo stood to make a fortune until the Timely Inc. Shipment Processing and Analysis Device decided to take control of the situation and hold a B-00-M Meson Beam Gun at Mojo's face. It allowed the reality system to stop just long enough for the heroes to escape. They confronted and destroyed Mojo, who was revealed to be a robot controlled by Major Domo.
