History
Anastasia Contrares was born in 1940 and grew up to be something of a street racing legend around the town of Revelation, Arizona by the 1950s. She was involved in a fatal car accident in the year 1961. Since then her ghost continued to drive the highways around the town in her trademark Eldorado.[1] In the Modern Age, the Fantastic Four's Human Torch was rescued from the side of a highway while the team was investigating some strange activity in the town of Revelation. Having just been attacked by a local monster known as the Howler, Johnny narrowly avoided getting run over by Contrares. She offered him a ride back into town.[2]
When they arrived they learned that Johnny's teammates had uncovered that the last surviving members of the Z'lyztayan race was hiding in the town in order to escape the threat of the Obliterator and that Mister Fantastic's recent space probes led the Obliterator to Earth. Anastasia helped the Fantastic Four stop the Obliterator from completing its mission. By this time, Johnny had developed a crush on the hot-rodding woman. However, he was soon informed that Anastasia was actually a ghost and learned how she died when one of the Z'lyztayans showed Johnny her grave.[1]
Presumably, Contrares' spirit continues to drive the highways around Revelation. However, her subsequent activities are unknown.
