Synopsis for 1st story

The story begins with Spider-Man waking up Captain America and then webbing his wounds. The Vision arrives and proceeds to help Iron Man to remove his armour. Mr. Gryphon appears and demands payment, which no one could afford. Spider-Man explains that he saw someone talking to Warbringer, yet he couldn't remember who, and then Tony calls in his armour to look for the person.

An aeroplane is preparing to land while Nova flies past wondering how Warbringer survived being thrown into the Sun. He then gets an alert that there is an attack on Liberty Science Center and he worries since it is in Jersey City. Warbringer explains how easy they made it for him to find one of the artifacts, then Ms. Marvel proceeds to try to stop him. Nova come in to the building and flies Warbringer trough a window, then Warbringer gets up and shoots Nova with a beam. Ms. Marvel grabs a fire hydrant and sprays the fire with water. Warbringer remarks on how Ms. Marvel "cares so very much for property" and then proceeds to shoot at a building. Nova comes and proceeds to "put out the fire" by destroying the building. Ms. Marvel calls Nova a "jerk" since the building was a "livelihood." Nova claims that the "alien doesn't care" and then the others appear and discuss what the Warbringer wants while flying towards the subway.

Warbringer explains how the "carbon sludge" humans are made of is "of such low quality" that he requires "repeated doses" to "hold his body together." He then tries to pull two civilians towards him, but Spider-Man intervenes and Ms. Marvel stops the civilians from falling. Nova, Iron Man, and Vision then blast Warbringer through a wall, and he gloats on how he wants immortality. He then says that "Earthlings are nothing, a dismissable infestation on a mineable planet with resources valuable to the Chitaurian Empire," then he proceeds to punch a hole in the wall and grab a piece of the artifact. Thor appears and proceeds to throw Mjolnir at Warbringer, but Gryphon teleports it behind Warbringer, making it hit the wall and cause it to flood, letting the Chitaurian escape.
