Doctor Alexi Skarab was a professor of Egyptology working in the city of Cairo. He was also (allegedly) a direct descendent of Nephrus, a priest of Pharaoh Aram-Set. Several years ago, Dr. Skarab encountered a creature once cursed by his ancestor's guile, N'Kantu - the Living Mummy.
