History
Zebediah Stane was a degenerate (and possibly a drunk[1]) gambler who lived in poverty with his son, Obadiah. One day (sometime after his wife or girlfriend died of unknown reasons) on a "lucky streak", Stane played a game of Russian roulette with his revolver, resulting in his death in front of his seven year old son.[2]

Zebediah's death caused several psychological trauma on Obadiah, apart from the lost of his hair, and shaped him for years to come. From there on, Obadiah was a ruthless manipulator who studies his adversaries to find weaknesses to exploit.[3]
Years later, Obadiah (after being defeated by Iron Man) raised his hand to the side of his head and fatally shot himself in the head via his Repulsor beam, mirroring what Zebediah did with his revolver.[3]
