Synopsis for "Suppressing Fire: Part 1 of 2"

Gambit, Danger and Rogue are making their way as fast as they can via plane to make it to San Francisco. Suddenly, Pixie appears and teleports them to Cyclops' side. While concerned over Rogue's choice of companions, Cyclops tells them about what's recently happened in the San Francisco, with Proposition X and Osborn's attempt to take control. Now, he needs them to round up any X-Men around in the city.

At that moment, Dragoness, Toad and Trance are running away from H.A.M.M.E.R. agents. Dragoness is subdued from a hit in the stomach. Trance unleashes her astral form to help her comrade, only for her body to be tasered. Luckily, Gambit arrives to save them. Next thing he knows is Onyx and Ariel popping out of a door, who said that Cyclops sent them.

Meanwhile, in Clinton Park, Rogue goes looking for Indra. In a warehouse, she finds an unconscious H.A.M.M.E.R. agent. Using her touch powers, she absorbs the agent's memories, determining that it was Indra who retaliated for attempting to contact his friend. She is then attacked by Karla Sofen/Ms. Marvel, who presumed that she attacked the agent. Given that Sofen could go intangible, Rogue picks up a gun and fires at the windows, allowing the falling glass shards to provide her an opening to escape.

On Castro Street, an entire crowd of civilians are challenging a H.A.M.M.E.R. blockade. Unfortunately, Ares walks through to disperse them. Gambit and Avalanche are no match for him. Rogue arrives and begins to absorb his power. But the power of god is too much for her, so Danger hurls a charged manhole, severing the connection. With enough superhuman strength, Rogue beats back the H.A.M.M.E.R., before commandeering the H.A.M.M.E.R. tank to look for Trance, leaving a bleeding Ares behind.
