History

Wing insulting Shadowcat

When Eddie's powers first manifested, Eddie was on top of the world. During his first landing, he broke both his legs as he was under the impression that he was also invulnerable.

Sometime later, Eddie became a student at the Xavier Institute and went under the codename Wing. He became good friends with the girls Hisako and Blindfold.

When the Mutant Cure hit the news, Wing was very nervous as he felt that nothing mattered more in his life than his ability to fly. When Shadowcat tried to take his mind of the problem by saying that the Cure was optional, Wing replied, asking Kitty if she was "a f***ing retard" and got in trouble for it. It was later revealed that Wing was just trying to act tough as he had a crush on Kitty.

Sometime later, the alien warrior Ord attacked the Institute in hopes of using the cure on the X-Men. When he learned that they were on a mission, he decided to use Wing as a message to what he was going to do with their kind. While trying to escape, Wing was pricked with the cure and fell to the ground, no longer with the ability to fly.

Eddie tried to cope without his abilities but found it very hard. He stayed on as a student but was becoming more and more depressed. When he was not in class, he would go inside the Danger Room and make it look like outside of the Institute where he would usually fly, even trying to use his powers with no use.

The sentient Danger Room felt Wing's pain and knew that if someone would die inside the Danger Room, she would become free. Pretending to be his friend Armor, Wing was filled with lies about how he should end his life.

Wing's life was cut short when he finally made the jump, hoping that his powers would return, or that the Danger Room would catch him. Neither happened, and he fell to his death.
