Bill the local fry cook runs Bill's Diner in Broxton, Oklahoma an establishment that has been in his family for three generations. One night the Asgardian goddess Kelda traveled to the nearby town of Broxton, Oklahoma, having trouble sleeping Bill was also out walking. After some conversation, Kelda invites Bill to visit her in Asgard. Eventually mustering his courage, Bill takes her up on her offer.

Over time the two fall in love, and Bill moves with her to Latveria during the Asgardian relocation. Feeling the need to help Balder somehow, Bill outside a window discovers Doom's plot to unravel the secret of the Asgardians immortality through vivisection. Loki notices Bill outside the window, and blasts him to the ground below. Several warriors loyal to Loki swarm out to attack Bill. He manages to hold them off for a few minutes, until one finally runs him through just as Balder rides up and sees Bill dying. Balder fights them off and Bill manages to run one of them through just as he is about to stab Balder, saving his life. Bill dies in Balder's arms, asking him to tell Kelda that he loves her, and that it was Loki who put this plan into motion.

After the Siege of Asgard, Kelda, looking to help in the rebuilding efforts is informed by a Valkyrie that in the Hall of Valhalla, Bill is among the great heroes who've fallen in battle.
