Personal History

William (Will) Simpson is a comics artist, illustrator, storyboard artist, film production artist and director of short films from Northern Ireland.

Professional History

His earliest work was in the Belfast small press in the early 1980s. This led to professional work drawing "Big Ben" in Warrior in 1984, and a run on Transformers for Marvel UK in 1985-1987. He worked on 2000AD from 1985 to 1990, drawing Judge Dredd and painting Rogue Trooper. In 1991 he moved into American comics, pencilling DC's Hellblazer until 1993. He has also drawn Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight, Animal Man and Vamps for DC, and Aliens and Indiana Jones for Dark Horse. For Marvel, he has drawn Excalibur Vol 1 #52 (1992) and Punisher 2099 #14 (1994) and #27 (1995) Since 2000, he has mostly concentrated on illustration and filmmaking.
