Vlad Tepulus (Earth-616) was born in the year 1459 to Prince Vlad Dracula of Wallachia and his wife Maria. When Vlad was still an infant, his father was turned into a vampire by a the gypsy witch Lianda, and his mother was raped and murdered by the Turkish warlord Turoc. Dracula slew Turac and buried Maria. As a vampire, he knew that he was no longer fit to be a parent, so he left young Vlad in the care of gypsies.
