A writer buys a magic typewriter that shows a mental vision of the truth of any newspaper story that is typed on it. It states a warning that the typewriter will be destroyed if it is attempted for greedy gain, but when the writer types in a story about an explorer looking for treasure, he gets a vision of the explorer overlooking the treasure and decides to take the typewriter with him to the cave so it won't be destroyed and pick up the chest. When he finds the treasure chest, the cave begins to close, so he wedges the typewriter into the opening. He escapes the cave, but without the treasure, and the typewriter is destroyed.
