So who can verify his unarmed combat skills? I know for a fact that USMC LINES training was developed well after Vietnam so well after Frank left service.

I am confused. He went to West Point (Army). Fought in WWII (Army). Served in Korea and became a Brigidier General (Air Force). His uniform is clearly the green of an Army uniform while those around him wear the blue of the Air Force. I know the Air Force was created after WWII from the Army Air Corps so I get how he went from one to the other, but the uniform throws me off. When you look at some of the references they conflict;
"The Los Diablos Missile Base is an Army base located in New Mexico, once commanded by General Thaddeaus Ross" (This would not happen)
I chalk up the uniform errors to accidental ignorance of the writers. The purist in my shudders at the inaccuracies though.....

I got this comic in the mid 70's while living in Italy. It was my first X-Men comic and turned me on to a whole new world of adventure. I thought having an X-Man die in the second comic of the new team was a bold move. The characters, Storm, Nightcrawler, Colossus, Banshee, and Wolverine were still fairly new and it was very interesting to see them develop as a team in their second showing together since their first appearances in Giant-Size X-Men #1 (May, 1975) (with the exception of Wolverine who was introduced in 1974 in his inaugral debut against the Hulk.

Is power grid is that of a normal human but the description of his stregth says he can lift over 100 tons. Did Marvel guides not give A-Bomb stats and instead only give Rick Jones stats?

In his bio, it is written that Thor is a; "Skilled Medic: Possessing a gifted intellect, Thor also has extensive medical knowledge due to his years spent on Earth as successful physician and surgeon Doctor Donald Blake and the EMT Jake Olson."
However, his power grid gives him a 2 (which is average for most of us) and gifted is listed as a 4.
