I'm Nick Peron, writer/comedian/burlesque emcee. When I'm not wasting hours away updating things here, I write for http://www.micro-shock.com, http://www.bthroughz.com, and http://www.destroythebrainonline.com . Also since you're taking up a stalker like obsession in my life follow me on Twitter http://www.twitter.com/micro_shock .
Taking a New Direction:
After a good five/six years of updating coming book summaries by going through my piles of Essential volumes, I have decided to move onto an even bigger ambition of mine: Making this the largest collection of Marvel encyclopedic information, anywhere on the internet. Bigger than the Appendix, Bigger than Marvel's own official Wiki, Bigger than the biggest, big internet thing (Unless we're talking Porn, then we will always be outclassed)
So I am starting at the very beginning. 1939, the year Timely Comics began publication and I am moving myself forward. I will be updating, adding, and creating everything. Issue summaries (When I can get them) characters, races, alternate universes, etc. etc. etc!
It will be crazy, but then again so am I.
So keep an eye on the stuff I'm adding, the Marvel Universe is a LOT bigger than you'd think.
Postscript:
After working on this intensive project for about a good year or more, I've decided that I am only going to be doing super-hero books, westerns, and other books that have strong ties to the modern day Marvel Universe (Earth-616 and other places in the multiverse) I am totally skipping the romance, comedy comics, and ones based on commercial properties (unless they are part of the Marvel Universe, like Micronauts, Shogun Warriors, Godzilla or ROM)... Ditto for crime and war comics (unless they have a direct connection to the Marvel Universe like Combat Kelly, Nick Fury etc.) .... At least not any time in the near future. As much as I'd like to be complete as possible, but with the exception of the war and crime comics, the rest don't really interest me overly much, and as a whole, are so far removed from the Marvel Universe proper they don't really matter overly much. I like writing obscure profiles about corny villains from the 40s, but not so much about backup characters from "fictional" Patsy Walker stories -- YAWN. But once I exhaust everything else maybe I'll get into it.
Currently Working On:
I am going to be updating expanded profiles on all the major super-heroes that had appearances in 1948 then start working on 1949.
1949 saw introductions of female super heroes such as Sun Girl, Venus and Golden Girl. Bucky (Fred Davis) getting shot, recaps of the Human Torch and Sub-Mariner's origins and the loss in popularity of super-heroes in favour of true crime, horror, sci-fi, romance, and western comics. The western comics in particular are of interest because they feature the first appearances of some of Marvel's most popular western characters such as the Two-Gun Kid, Kid Colt, and more obscure gunslingers than you can slap leather to. Yee-Haw.
Previously Worked On:' Finished the years 1939-1948. Every comic summary for every super-hero book, added many profiles for obscure characters.
