Synopsis for "The Mutants and the Monster"

Professor X is in a coma following his mental exertion against the Z'Nox[1]. The X-Men try to probe his mind to find out what the problem is, but they only get images of the Incredible Hulk! Flabbergasted, they resolve to find the Hulk and hope he can shed light on this mysterious mental image.

They find him ravaging Los Vegas, where they engage him in battle. Physical attacks seem to have little effect, but then Jean mentally forces a reversion to Bruce Banner. However, the army wants him, but the X-Men need vital information to save Professor X. Bruce tells them there is a device in one of his secret labs, but the army isn't letting him go anywhere. Angered, he reverts back to the Hulk, and smashes his way to freedom!

The X-Men chase him into the desert, and battle again. A chance tumble by the Hulk breaks open the entrance to a secret installation. Quick investigating by the Angel turns up the device in question, and the X-Men leave the Hulk in peace and hurry home. The device revives Professor X, and the X-Men "fight happily ever after"...
