Synopsis for "The Fateful Finale!"
Cyclops and Iceman battle their way into the missile control room where they freeze the air ventilation system, preventing Factor Three's gas from being deployed. Suddenly robot tentacles spring from the walls, but quickly our heroes realize they are illusions created by Mastermind. Unus also shows, and battle is joined. Cyke and Bobby manage to delay them long enough that they flee before the army arrives. Meanwhile, behind the Iron Curtain the other X-Men battle their way past Soviet security and get the bomb away from the meeting, tossing it high in the air where it detonates safely. The X-Men track Factor Three back to their base where they square off against the evil mutants serving the Mutant Master. Suddenly, 'Professor X' (really the Changeling) shows up and tells them that the Mutant Master is merely using them to betray them, and betray them he does by ordering his androids to attack everyone. The evil mutants join the fight against the Mutant Master, and when he is defeated it is revealed he is an alien sent to conquer earth. His plan foiled, he commits suicide. The X-Men leave with Professor X, and the threat of Factor Three is ended.
