Uatu is the ever-present Watcher of the planet Earth. He records events from his cloaked ship that orbits Earth’s atmosphere. When the Phoenix became corrupt after it's induction into the Circle Club, it sent a psionic shock wave through the Universe. He was one of the many beings alerted to the danger.
