Synopsis for "In Search of the Gods"Edit
Thor is called in, because a crazy man has taken a bunch of children hostage at the Ballon Bunch Daycare Center, claiming to be Heimdall. Thor arrives and listens to the man's story after freeing the hostages, and agrees to take him to Asgard to see if his story is true. When they arrive, they are both overcome by the devastation of the golden city, and the man realizes that he is not really Heimdall. Upset, Thor hurls Mjolnir, freeing a bunch of debris, and unknowingly, freeing Perrikus from his prison. Down at the docks back on Earth, Colonel Preston Case oversees the offloading of a large container, he's told that no one is supposed to touch it without Class A. He doesn't listen, and upon touching it, the container seems to explode.
Thor takes the man to a hospital, where he's met by Jane Foster, who agrees to take care of him, and tells Thor about the Avengers battle taking place down on the docks. Thor arrives to find the Avengers battling the Destroyer, now possessed by Colonel Case, who is intoxicated by the power. Thor uses all of his power to try and hold the Destroyer at bay, while the rest of the Avengers get the remaining civilians clear of the area. EMT's Jake and Demitrius have been also called into the area to try and help the injured. But during the battle, Jake is mortally wounded by flying shrapnel while trying to save a woman from a burning car. Thor advances on the Destroyer, but is pummeled down, and lowering his visor, the Destroyer kills the god of thunder.
