History
Thomas Logan lived in Alberta, Canada during the late 19th century. He was the groundskeeper for the Howlett estate, but was also an alcoholic, and was short-tempered. He was the father of "Dog" Logan. His exact date of birth is unknown.
He was an abusive, alcoholic father who beat his own son and introduced the boy to alcohol. He had a violent temper, a mean disposition, and flew into uncontrollable rages.
He was kicked off of the Howlett estate for failing to control his son. Afterward, Thomas returned, armed and alongside Dog, and killed his former employer John Howlett Jr. He was in turn killed by James Howlett when the youth drove his newly manifested bone claws into Thomas's chest. James Howlett killed Thomas Logan to defend himself and his mother from Thomas who was drunk, armed, and had already committed murder.
Notes
- There is much debate as to whether or not he is in fact James Howlett's biological father. This is hinted towards in the Origins series, with the fact that the adult James Howlett looks exactly like Thomas Logan. However, a strong physical resemblance doesn't prove paternity. In all of Wolverine's profile entries in the various Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe one-shot issues since the release of the Origins series, John Howlett, Jr. is listed his father, not Thomas Logan.
