History

The Terrible Trio was a group of criminals hand-picked and bailed out of jail by Dr. Doom to serve him in a scheme to destroy the Fantastic Four. After they had captured the Fantastic Four for him, Doom betrayed them, however, and instead of paying them, banished them to another dimension^[1].

When Doom was defeated by the Fantastic Four, he lost his power to keep his three henchmen in the dimension he had sent them. Dakor and the others were instantaneously transported back to their own world. Fearing that Doom would return for them someday, they planned to defeat the Fantastic Four on their own to prove themselves worthy of Doom. They decided to do this one by one and to start out with their youngest member, the Human Torch, but were defeated^[2].
