History

The Swamp Men are a human society of hunter-gatherers. . There are many distinct tribes, the majority are against Ka-Zar.

They are frequently at war with each other or with neighboring cultures. At one point, they worshipped Umbu the Unliving, an android that had been left on Earth by the Sagittarians, an alien race who had visited the Earth centuries ago.

Most of the Savage Land Mutates were Swamp Men who had been genetically modified by Magneto.

The Swamp Men ride giant birds and are allied with Zaladane with her occasional attempts to conquer the Savage Land. Some of the The Swamp Men have light skin, others with dark skin and others have a fur. Some joined Ka-Zar to fight the Skrulls.
