History
The Microverse in which Spartak resided was swept with madness caused by the Psycho-Man's emotocaster. This led to the murder of Arcturus Rann, causing the realm to crumble. The remaining members of Rann's subjects managed to flee the destruction as the Man-Thing was drawn to the turmoil of the Microverse.[1]
Mari, Rann's wife, maintained a psychic link with her husband, whose soul had departed to the Realm of the Dead, where it joined Kree hero Mar-Vell in fighting to destroy Death. When Mar-Vell was reborn in the realm of the living, Spartak and the other survivors of the Microverse aided him on behalf of Rann.[2]
They were assigned to watch Pope Immortus and his Church of Immortus, who were trying to topple the stop the reversal of humanity's mutations, because they believed the mutated mankind was destined to conquer the stars.
