The Executioner, along with the other members of the Masters of Evil, empowered and poisoned Wonder Man and, in return for a cure, ordered him to join the Avengers and lead them into their trap. However, Wonder Man informed the Avengers of Zemo's trap and the Masters of Evil were defeated.[citation needed]
