History
The past history of the Sentinels is similar to that of their Earth-616 counterpart. In recent history, when humanity began to mutate due to the Terrigen Mists, the governments of the world did not know the cause and assumed that mutations was a communicable disease being spread by Mutants. In order to try and stave what they believe to be the cause of the infection by placing mutants and those who were "infected" in internment camps.
This would enrage Magneto, who saw every new mutation as an addition to his mutant brethren. Magneto would be the largest threat to the Sentinel operated "mutant" containment program. Getting wise to his magnetic abilities, the Sentinels began constructing themselves out of non-ferrous materials. Deciding to end his threat once and for all, the powers that controlled the Sentinels sent the whole fleet after the master of magnetism.
Magneto was ready for this, and so he lured the robots to the Savage Land, having learned that the air in that realm was heavy in iron content. Using this, Magneto used the very air to destroy the Sentinels. He would then construct a safe haven for mutants in the Savage Land dubbed Sentinel City. Mutates from all over the world would flock to Sentinel City which was run by Magneto. They would eventually leave, when Magneto and Toad would swap powers (caused by the repolarization of the planet) and Toad ruled with an iron fist.
When Magneto was freed and his powers were restored to normal by Black Bolt, Iron Maiden, Jade Dragon and the Iron Avengers, Magneto would help them battle the Absorbing Man who had returned to life and attacked New York City. He would reconstruct the Sentinels of Sentinel City to aid in this counter attack. Eventually, Creel would be convinced to save the world by turning into Vibranium. The fate of the Sentinels following this remain unrevealed.
