After the Phalanx conquered the Kree galaxy, they began enslaving the inhabitants, turning the most worthy of their enemies into their Selects, entities whose bodies have been corrupted by the Phalanx, and whose wills have been broken into servitude of the Phalanx.

- The Selects are less of a team, and more of an order within the Phalanx hierarchy, representing elite enemies that have been broken and brought under the will of the collective.
- Praxagora and Super-Skrull were put through the process, but they were ultimately saved before being turned.
- Ronan and Nova were able to fight the control. Nova fought it with the help of the Novaforce, while Ronan was helped by Wraith.
