HistoryEdit

After Bob Russo's failed attempt at replacing Steve Rogers as Captain America (See Captain America #178), Biker "Scar" Turpin decides to assume the role.

Unfortunately, Scar's first attempt at breaking up a mugging ends in disaster, as more members of a gang come to reinforce their criminal cohorts. Scar is badly beaten. He laments that he did not bring his tire iron to the fracas to defend himself. Scar apparently abandons his quest to be Captain America after his debut.

TriviaEdit

Unlike Roscoe the Mechanic or Sam Wilson, Turpin was neither given the role of Captain America by a previous established Cap (as Rogers did to these two as his successors) nor approved by the US government in the role of Captain America. Thus Turpin is not considered a true Captain America.
