History

Hrimthursar which translates as "Rime-Giants" were a primal race of giants. They were decended from giant Ymir. When the gods Odin, Ve and Vili killed the primal giant, his floating blood coused a great tide and the Rime-Giants were drowned, except a few which included Ymir's grandson Bergelmir and his wife.

After the death of his grandfather, Bergelmir and his wife lived in Jotunheim and became the ancestors of the Jötun (Frost Giants).
