History
The past history of Rick Jones of Earth-776 mirrors that of his Earth-616 counterpart up until the point when Hulk left the Avengers. In this reality, when the Avengers would meet to decide what to do about the Hulk, they would disband. Iron Man would still find the Hulk a threat and would contact Rick Jones who would agree with the Golden Avengers position. Attempting to capture the Hulk on his own, Rick would instead need to call Iron Man in for help. Iron Man would just barely manage to defend himself from the Hulk, driving him off but sustaining heavy damage to his armor.
Shortly after when getting a challenge from the Hulk and the Sub-Mariner, Iron Man would call Rick back with Henry Pym and Janet van Dyne to help combat the threat posed by both the undersea monarch and the green brute. To this end, Iron Man built a suit of armor for Rick and the others to wear. When training how to use the armor Rick and the others would prove slow to learn how they function leading to Iron Man losing his temper on them. Pym and van Dyne would walk out on Stark, but later Rick Jones would convince Henry and Janet to try again. They would arrive to find that Iron Man had gone off alone against the Hulk and Namor. Rushing to their friends aid, Giant-Man would be injured in the battle and Iron Man would use the last of his armor's power to revive Henry, sacrificing his life in the process. The battle would end shortly thereafter when the Hulk would turn his aggression toward his opponent when Rick's life was put at risk[1].
