HistoryEdit

Reed Richards mutated and died in space along with his wife Susan and astronaut John Jameson, leaving Ben Grimm as the only survivor. His death and that of his wife also left their young son, Franklin, orphaned. It is later revealed that Victor von Doom, leader of the Fearsome Four, gave his team superpowers by performing experiments on the corpses of Reed and Susan.
