History

The past of Pietro Maximoff largely mirrors that of his Earth-616 counterpart.

Pietro Maximoff was the son of Magneto and twin-brother of the Scarlet Witch. While beginning his career as a member of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, he eventually left to join the Avengers together with his sister. Pietro eventually married the Inhuman princess Crystal, and together they had a daughter named Luna.[1]

Many years later, when humanity was mutated due to the release of the Terrigen Mist, Pietro and his fellow heroes did their best to help humanity through the chaos and violence that followed global mutation. After putting Titania in a coma during a fight, the Avengers found themselves the targets of the Absorbing Man's vengeance. After absorbing the intellect of Ultron, he attacked Washington, D.C. and faced the Avengers. Unprepared for his vastly increased intelligence and power, the Avengers fell one by one as the Absorbing Man countered their every ability. He killed Pietro by turning into a liquid fluid that enveloped him and smothered him to death.[2]

After his death, Pietro found himself in the Realm of the Dead. Unware that he was dead, he was doomed to fight never-ending battles with other deceased superhumans for all eternity. He was eventually recruited by Mar-Vell, who gathered an army of the deceased and succeeded in destroying Death. After Mar-Vell destroyed Death and created Paradise, Quicksilver was one of the many super-beings that would be brought to this new afterlife. There, Pietro would consume a shard of the Cosmic Cube to create his own ideal paradise.[3]
