Phyliss was an avid Beatles fan who had a crush on John Lennon and was at the Dakota Building on the day of his murder.

When the Shi'ar Death Commandos were eradicating Grey Family members because of their Genome, Roy and Phyliss were invited to the Grey family reunion at which the massacre was unbeknownst to them occurring. Just as Roy and Phyliss reached the front door they were murdered by the commando Warshot so that the other members of his team could create an impenetrable shield that would surround the Greys home. The couple were seemingly killed at random as neither possessed the genome that the Death Commandos were trying to exterminate.
