History
Peter Parker was bitten by a radioactive spider as a teenager, granting him spider-like powers. After the death of his Uncle Ben, which he could have prevented, Peter learned that "with great power, comes great responsibility". Swearing to always protect the innocent from harm, Peter Parker became the Amazing Spider-Man.[citation needed]

Trivia
- This version of Peter Parker received his powers at age seventeen.[2]
- Despite not having had any negative experiences in connection with the Brooklyn Bridge, Peter is stated to have always been unsettled when crossing it. This is a reference to the death of Gwen Stacy who originally died on George Washington Bridge until later reprints had her death occur on the Brooklyn Bridge.[3]
