History

Norma Astrovik was the wife of Arnold Astrovik and is the mother of Vance Astrovik. Arnold was an abusive husband and father. He would often get drunk and beat Norma and Vance. Norma loved her son, but she did little to stop her husband from abusing Vance. The times when she would try to protect Vance, Arnold would beat her as well. Arnold was originally thought to be abusive because he hated the fact that his only child was a mutant. Vance later discovered two other reasons: Arnold was abused by his own father and Arnold was a deeply closeted homosexual. It is unclear if Norma suspected her husband was gay.

Trivia

In their first appearance, Arnold and Norma Astrovik were named Tom and Mary Astrovik.
