While preparing yet another device to destroy the Hulk, Ross fumes over the loss of the Absorbatron, and the apparent death of Bruce Banner, when one of his subordinates informs him that Banner's body has gone missing. Elsewhere in the desert, Rick Jones takes the inert body of Bruce Banner to Banner's hidden laboratory and bombards it with more Gamma radiation in hopes of reviving Banner. Banner's body turns into the Hulk and revives, where Rick is startled to learn that the Hulk has retained Banner's mind. To make matters worse, Banner informs Rick that if he were to change back into his human form he would surely die and decides to find a way to make his change into the Hulk permanent.

Elsewhere the Leader is contacted by his employers, who berate the Leader for his failure to obtain the Absorbatron. The Leader offers them an even greater weapon for a million dollars, however the Communists are not sold and tell the Leader that he will only get the money if he proves his claims by destroying a missile base. The Leader agrees and unleashes his latest creation: A gigantic Humanoid which he sends into the desert to go and destroy the nearby missile base. All opposition in its path are unable to destroy the gigantic humanoid.

Meanwhile, at the Nevada military base, Glenn Talbot tells Betty of Banner's apparent demise and the suspicion that he may have been a traitor to his country. Both are unaware that the Hulk had arrived on the base and has been listening in on their conversation. The Hulk concludes that in the state that he is in, he will let Betty believe what she may so that she may live a normal life without the Hulk.

Just then, the humanoid arrives at the base and begins its attack. The military's counter attack does not work, and the Hulk bounds in to try and stop the creature itself. However, the Hulk's strength is still not enough to defeat the creature either. Undaunted, the Hulk tries again and starts bounding towards the humanoid. At that moment, Ross has ordered their new "Sunday Punch" super-missile be deployed against the creature. Overhearing this, Rick tries to warn the Hulk, but Banner chooses to ignore Rick's pleas and continues on his path to destroy the humanoid. This story is continued next issue...

When the Fantastic Four need a lawyer for the renewal of their headquarter's lease, they send the Thing to Nelson & Murdock's law office. Murdock takes the case and Karen loans her photograph of him for programming the electronic alarm devices to admit him into their guarded base. Fantastic Four leave for Washington D.C. to be awarded with an another decoration.

Meanwhile, as Daredevil, Matt Murdock busts up Electro's car theft ring. The villain decides to steal Reed Richards' scientific secrets and sell them to a hostile nation. With his electrical skills, Electro easily breaks into the Baxter Building but at the same time, Matt Murdock is coming to examine Fantastic Four's headquarters. With a warning from his super-sharp senses, he changes into Daredevil and battle ensues. Electro gets his revenge by beating the crime-fighter and sending him into space tied aboard the Fantastic Four's rocket. Daredevil, however, gets control of the ship and by "hearing the slight movement of the astro-compass" lands it safely in Central Park. To escape the police, he steals a horse.

Wanting to surprise Electro, Daredevil catches the underside of a sightseeing helicopter with his cane's handle and drops to the Baxter Building from the air. Electro flees with Richards' scientific notes via elevator shaft and attaches himself to atop a passing car with electric magnetism. However, Daredevil is able to follow him, guided by the electric emanations from Electro's body. They battle inside a movie theatre and the man without fear wins the fight by dropping a curtain on the electric villain. Police short-circuit Electro with water from the fire hoses, rendering his electric powers useless.

Daredevil returns Richards' notes to his vault and later, back in his identity of attorney Matt Murdock, is visited again by the F.F., who have come to ask about the report about their lease. Hearing that Murdock hasn't done it yet, they decide to hire another lawyer.

Fantastic Four Vol 1 11 Part 2 Title

An alien being from the planet Poppup arrives on Earth and appears before a group of hobos seeking entertainment.[Continuity2 1] When he asks the homeless men for food they tell the alien that the only way he can get food is with money. Taking this as literally as possible, the alien goes to a nearby bank and takes bags full of money, using his shapeshifting powers to get past a teller. When he is stopped by police they begin to shoot at the alien, who quickly turns into metal to deflect the bullets, sending the police fleeing. The authorities then call in the Fantastic Four to handle this alien being and they find the extra-terrestrial gorging on food at a fancy restaurant. Asking where he came from, the Fantastic Four learn that this alien came from the planet Poppup where his people evolved into beings that could change shape into any form in order to deal with any threats to their lives.

When they tell the alien that he cannot just steal money, he points out that nobody tried to stop him. The Thing and Human Torch to try to subdue the cocky alien, but his shape-changing powers defend him well from any attack. Learning that this alien is on vacation, Sue tries to reason with him explaining that he can't just break Earth laws. When she asks the alien what his name is, he explains that Popuppians do not have names because they "know who they are." When he tries to walk out of the restaurant another fight breaks out and the Thing coins this alien as "impossible," prompting everyone to begin referring to him as the Impossible Man.

The Fantastic Four chase the creature outside where they battle him some more. When the army sends in soldiers, Reed tells them to stay back, prompting the Impossible Man to change into a bomb. Reed quickly uses his stretching power to toss the "bomb" into the air where it explodes harmlessly. Flying around on wings, the Impossible Man is then brought down when the Human Torch uses his powers to create a hypnotic pinwheel out of flame.[Continuity2 2] Eventually, Reed deduces that the Impossible Man is encouraged by people's reaction to his antics and that he is starved for attention. He then sends out a message to everyone in New York to simply ignore the Impossible Man. Miraculously the people of the city do just that and begin to ignore the impish alien's destructive games until the Impossible Man grows so bored with the lack of attention he decides to leave Earth, vowing that neither he nor anyone else from his race will visit the Earth ever again, much to the relief of the Fantastic Four.
