Blade is on the hunt for a Darkhold Page that will wipe out the occult. Frank, Hannibal, and John Blaze are all hot on his trail trying to stop him, but they're too late. Blade gets the page and reads it, and accepting it's offer, he's transformed into Switchblade. Now capable of not only killing occult-powered individuals, he absorbs their abilities and powers as well. His first victims are Hannibal King and John Blaze, and absorbing King's vampiric abilities, and Blaze's hellfire abilities, he rides off to find and wipe out all supernatural things on Earth.
Switchblade continues hunting down anyone touched by the supernatural. Demogoblin learns about Switchblade, and wants to join forces. Unfortunately, Switchblade wants nothing to do with any kind of partnership and kills Demogoblin, and almost kills Ghost Rider before he escapes.
Ghost Rider and Frank Drake finally locate the Darkhold Redeemers, but right behind them is Switchblade. He battles Modred, and kills him and Vicki. But Modred was fighting under a geas[1], that he couldn't leave the island of Maui, so he had taken some of it's soil with him. But when Switchblade absorbed Modred's power, he absorbed the geas as well, and as he died, Modred released the soil. Breaking the geas causes Switchblade excrutiating pain, giving the heroes a head start, to find the Darkhold before he does.
Jack Russell has come looking for Morbius to help him learn to co-exist with his condition. But Switchblade has come looking for him. Upon killing Michael Morbius the human, the Lilin presence in his blood takes over, and tries to kill Switchblade. Using the powers of Modred, Switchblade kills both Morbius and Jack Russell. Now only Ghost Rider, Drake, Sam, and Louise stand between Switchblade, and him getting his hands on the Darkhold.
Switchblade breaks into The Sanctum Sanctorum of Doctor Strange, but when he grabs the Darkhold, a spell is activated that tries to whisk it to another dimension. But the Darkhold fights back, recognizing Switchblade for what it is. Ghost Rider uses his chain to anchor the Darkhold, but leaves himself open. Switchblade kills the Ghost Rider, but when he's done, Ghost Rider's penance stare is activated and Switchblade feels everything he's done. Weakening him, this gives Louise the chance to grab the Darkhold and read the spell that reverses the spell on Blade, reverting him back to normal, and bringing everyone he's killed back to life, but costing her her own soul in the process.
