My recommendation - just leave the wiki. Already had to contact Wikia Staff over the behavior of a few admins, to which they recommended leaving for another wiki "where the contributions of editors were appreciated".
I know you have a pretty thorough collection of handbooks and indexes, so I was wondering if you could answer a question. We are currently listing Dr Doom's Revenge Vol 1 1 as an Earth-616 comic, featuring a team-up of Spider-Man and Captain America fighting Doctor Doom. I was wondering if the indexes for either character makes any mention of this.
I have my doubts, as it's a) a video game tie-in, b) it is not included in the APN tracks that have been added to both characters and c) it's not noted in the Chronology Project. But, the Index seems like it wold carry a definitive answer as to whether or not it's canon.
I didn't notice its presence in the Spider-Man index, but the index doesn't cover everything. I highly doubt that it is canon. I read it when it was published because I bought that game. I don't remember any details of the story. I assume it was a standard and generic team-up story with no connection to 616. If I was the person who put those 616 listings in there, it was just laziness on my part. They should probably be text entries as I doubt Marvel will ever assign an alt to that comic.
Thanks. I kind of figured it was outside 616 history. It's likely that it was tossed into 616 because the appendix lists it that way.
I think a TRN could be appropriate though. The game and comic feature two original characters: Charles Ralston, who doesn't have a page, and Rattan. Interesting enough to warrant one in my opinion.
I asked on Brevoort's Tumblr-page about the handbooks and here's the response:
Q: A friend of mine who has all of the Marvel Handbooks in his collection is wondering if there are any plans for new ones being released in the future. Do you have any clue about that?
A: I expect we’ll do more eventually.
Although it's good he's confirmed it, it's a shame he didn't elaborate more about it.
But the thing is, I'm not even sure if all of the realities listed on marvunapp are even specifically from Handbooks. The designation of Earth-13410 appeared just after X-Treme X-Men Vol 2 #10 came out, and the general list is updated every now and then.
I just went through all the galleries that Red Prophet created and added the correct templates and categories. While doing that, I noticed some images simply named "1.jpg", "2.jpg" and so on.
Since you really took the lead in building up the forums when they rolled out, I figure you would have interest in this thread. Jamie appears to have some sort of pull with Wikia (the Wikia Star badge is a decent indicator), so I posted asking him to bring a few suggested changes to the forums. If you have any ideas on this, feel free to leave them there; the more postings about wanting some changes may encourage him to move it up the "Wikia ladder", so to speak.
I talked to Wikia staff member Danny who's on the forum coding project (before I got booted from community council for not signing an NDA) and he said "restricting the forum posts of one type of user from another goes against the philosophy here at Wikia of complete transparency for all." or something to that effect. I don't remember the exact words, but that was the gist of it. It's not gonna happen any time soon. Sorry.
Hey, letting you to know that there is this unknown who is vandalizing my Resistance wikia because of being worked up over some stupid thing. And he's "getting back" by swearing to vandalizing the other wikis I frequent, including Marvel, as his way of protesting to leave the wikia for good (as if).
To believe how this guy is a pain in the back, read this threat message:
"im fed up of waiting for you to leave resistance wiki drygen so im vandilizing other wikis you are on now fucking american assholes all of youse except the black guys their cool stop now or im going to youre other wikis you have till this monday or more wikis get the curse"
I think it would be nice if I get some pointers in dealing with banning unknowns.
I'm not really one of the banhammer types. Maybe ask another admin? Until this guy actually vandalizes a page it doesn't seem to me to require action. You can't convict someone for what they might do. Maybe he's just blowing off steam because he thinks you're an ass. Lord knows that I think alot of people on wikia are asses. It doesn't mean that I waste my time vandalizing pages.
This hasn't got anything to do with the actual wiki, but I need some Marvel help. My friend and I are creating a Marvel vs DC game. I need one more villain for Marvel, but I can't think of who. I currently have Loki, Bullseye, Doom and Magneto. Again, you don't have to help.
