Assistant to Mendell Stromm until Stromm's apparent death.

Max had a multiple personality disorder that got him put in a mental institution. He was later broken out by Alistair Smythe, along with other chosen inpatients, to build new types of Spider-Slayers to catch Spider-Man. When Max's design failed, Smythe had him killed.
