HistoryEdit

Marvello the Mystic was a spy for Imperial Japan who was active during World War II. By the fall of 1942 he operated an seemingly innocuous fortune telling shop. However he used it for his subversive activities. Luring clientele that worked in the defense sector, he used an blood potion native of India to make these people his temporary slaves so that they would steal secrets for him. His victims would soon forget their instructions and dimly recall seeing Marvello months prior to their actual encounters.

Marvello's downfall was in choosing Mrs. Rodgers as his next target, as she was too old to survive the blood letting required for the potion to work. Stumbling out of Marvello's business in a daze, she was helped home by Thomas Halloway (secretly the costumed Angel) who was happening by. The Angel began investigating Marvello when Rodgers was found dead, supposedly of anemia, the following morning.

Catching Marvello in the act of sending young Miss White to the King Aircraft Company to steal the designs of their new King Bomber Plane, the Angel battled Marvello and his minions. Knocked out, the Angel was tossed in a basement chamber with a snake, but managed to break free. Catching Marvello in the act of handing the plans over to a Japanese spy, the Angel beat them all into submission and turned them over to the authorities.

Marvello's subsequent fate following the war is unknown.

Equipment

Marvello had an mind control potion learned from India. It required an amount of blood letting but made those exposed to it his obedient slaves. Once their orders were carried out they would forget what transpired during their trance like state.

Weapons

Marvello was armed with a pistol. At times he used his crystal ball (a prop with no apparent mystical capabilities) as a blunt object. He also had a snake that he unleash upon his victims. His guards were armed with scimitars and daggers.
