Luna Maximoff of Earth-9997's past mirrors that of her Earth-616 counterpart, however in this reality, Luna has never been exposed to the Terrigen Mists. In recent history, the adolescent Luna left with the Inhuman Royal Family to outer space following the death of Maximus, the Inhuman's abandoning the Hidden Land to live among humanity, and Black Bolt secretly releasing the Terrigen Mists into Earth's atmosphere.

Luna would remain in a human form until the Inhumans returned to Earth after discovering the Eternals trapped in Vibranium and came to warn Reed Richards. They would also return to pair up Luna with Black Bolt and Medusa's son, who had been left in the care of King Britain.

Upon her arrival on Earth, Luna's exposure to the Terrigen Mists in Earth's atmosphere would cause her to begin mutating. She would eventually become encased in a coccoon which would eventually hatch and she would emerge in a humanoid butterfly form. This would occur just after Black Bolt sacrificed his life trying to stop the Celestials. Luna would present herself to Bolt's son, now calling himself the Black Knight, who would rebuff her desire to marry, feeling that there were more important responsibilities than being king to an entire world.

Luna would be devastated, however she would soon turn her affections towards one of King Britain's knight the Jack of Hearts. Although she expressed her interest in the man during preparations of the wedding between Medusa and King Britain, it is unknown if she has acted on this attraction and what her current whereabouts may be.
