History

Early Life and the X-Men[]

Lorna Dane was an early member of the X-Men alongside her boyfriend, Iceman. Together, they fought to defend both humanity and mutantkind. When Lorna nearly died during a mission, the pair decided to leave the X-Men and live normal lives. As the mutant crisis became ever more acute, Lorna began to feel that they had a duty to use their powers to help their people.[1]

X-Factor[]

Lorna was approached by Forge, the leader of X-Factor, a team of mutant heroes organized by the government to fight for mutantkind. Knowing of her experience as an X-Man, Forge attempted to recruit her. Lorna accepted the offer, but believed that Bobby would never go along with the idea if he were to know. She faked her disappearance, and left to join X-Factor. There, she met Havok, a fellow mutant who shared her ideals of fighting of betterment of mutantkind. The two quickly fell in love.[1]

Worried that Lorna had been kidnapped, Bobby found X-Factor's training facility and attempted to "rescue" her. He inadvertently brought the X-Men into the conflict, resulting in a brawl between them and X-Factor. Lorna appeared to diffuse the conflict, confessing to Bobby that she had faked her disappearance, and that she was in love with Havok. A dejected Bobby left, and X-Factor and the X-Men made peace. [1]

Later, she aided Beast, Magneto, Forge, Warlock and Amelia Voght in fighting the extraterrestrial Phalanx Empire.[2]
