History

Long Island is the largest of all islands in the continental United States covering over 4,400 square miles. Long Island is 118 miles long and ranging from 12 to 20 miles wide island extending from New York harbor into the Atlantic Ocean.

Brooklyn and Queens account for over half of total areas and are boroughs of New York City. Nassau and Suffolk counties are mainly suburban areas with stretching farmlands and rural sections on the most outlying portions. Long Island has a major commuter base in population as people living in the quieter suburbs make their living in Manhattan.

Due to it's close proximity to New York City, a major superhero hub, much of the vigilante action and battles spread into suburban Long Island.

Aboard the Maggia Gambling Ship, Morgan Stark was brought to Maggia leader Big M; to pay his debt, he brought here Iron Man, who was then confronted by Whiplash^[1].
Locked into a room and injured by Whiplash's whip, Iron Man decided to buy himself some time by using his hologram projector to confuse his enemy with duplicate images of the golden avenger, but, when the batteries finally ran out on his holographic projector, with the true Iron Man revealed, Big M ordered Whiplash to finish Iron Man off once and for all^[2].
As the casino ship was bombed by an A.I.M. submarine, Big M, Whiplash and the Maggia thugs fled the casino ship and Iron Man was trapped to a magnetic table in a room slowly filling with water^[3].
