The past history of John Jameson of Earth-78327 mirrors that of his Earth-616 counterpart up until early on in his career as an astronaut. In this reality, John would attend an exhibition on radiation that he thought would be of interest to the space program. He would be bitten by a spider that would be irradiated during the demonstration and be walked off. Later he would discover that the spider bite would endow him with the proportionate abilities of a spider.

Once his father, newspaper publisher J. Jonah Jameson, would learn of his sons abilities, he would convince him to become "Spider-Jameson, the super-astronaut" and take up crime fighting. Using the publicity of his sons exploits to boost circulation with his papers. John would become an instant success, however he would meet his end when attempting to save an out of control space capsule, and sacrifice his life so that the astronaut inside could live.

Following his death, John's father would erect a statue in his honor in Central Park. Jameson's legacy would live on in young Peter Parker. Peter was both present when John had been bitten by the radioactive spider (taking it's corpse for study) and his death (attempting to get a photographers job at the Bugle) and would be inspired to try to duplicate John's powers by means of the dead spiders venom, and would succeed becoming known as the costumed hero known as Spider-Man.
