History

John Howlett, Jr. was James Howlett's father, though possibly not biologically. Allegedly, Thomas Logan had an affair with John, Jr's wife, Elizabeth, and this is the reason that James looks like Thomas did. John, Jr. was about to become executor of the Howlett Estate when he was murdered by a drunken Thomas. He had previously fired Thomas for his inability to control his son, "Dog" Logan, who had killed James' puppy and attempted to get physical with their live-in playmate, Rose.

John, Jr. was fairly distrought by his first son's inevitable murder after he had developed monstrous powers.

John, Jr. is not the father of James Howlett nor John Howlett III that comes by the fact that they look more like the groundkeeper Thomas Logan than him possibly he married Elizabeth Howlett while she was pregnant of John III and after the birth the child was named after him.
