History
Jean Grey was among the first of Xavier's first mutant students. Jean for most of the series was a warm hearted friendly person who when necessary stepped in and played peace maker between Cyclops and Wolverine and the rest of the team. She was in relationship with Cyclops and the two eventually got married. However their marriage was interrupted by Mr. Sinister and his Nasty Boys who wanted to kidnap them because their genes held the key to creating the perfect mutant. They were rescued by the other X-Men and Mr. Sinister was nearly destroyed by Cyclops. In the 3rd season she serves as the main antagonist after being transformed into the Dark Phoenix. She is however freed from the cosmic entity and returned to being a X-Man for the rest of the series.
