History
Jim Rhodes shared a similar history to his Prime Universe counterpart until Iron Man was infected and ultimately succumbed to the Extremis virus before the Civil War. After the Stamford incident the government passed the "Super-Hero Registration Act", and Jim was made leader of Sentinel O*N*E Strikeforce which were able to drive the heroes underground but were proven to be less effective against villains who did not have the same moral code. After Gyrich unleashed Thor clones which were able to bring about the deaths of several heroes, Jim tried to negotiate a peace. He was betrayed by Maria Hill and Gyrich murdered both him and Cap.[1]
