Jacob "Jake" Fury, the brother of Nick Fury, was born in New York City. As the original Scorpio, he died twice (once via suicide), only to be revived in a succession of android bodies by the intelligent, extra-dimensional Zodiac Key from which he drew his power. Another man, Jacques LaPoint, became the second Scorpio and led the Zodiac until Jake (in his second android body) killed him. Impersonating LaPoint, Fury led eleven other Zodiac-themed androids to kill and replace the rest of the human Zodiac. Scorpio and the other androids were deactivated when they were transported to the Zodiac Key's dimension of origin during a battle with the West Coast Avengers. Another Scorpio was the leader of the Zodiac team who fought Alpha Flight and was later massacred by Malcolm Colcord's Weapon X team.
It was revealed that the Scorpio that committed suicide was in fact a Life-Model Decoy, the first one. Jake Fury had secretly taken the Kraken identity and infiltrated Hydra, working with his brother.
Kraken's Helmet: Upon donning the Kraken's helmet, the wearer's body becomes covered in armor of a magical or advanced technological nature. The helmet may also affect the mind of the wearer, as the Kraken described feeling like he was "slipping into a new persona - a new face, a new voice... and the vision to see the world in a new light."
The helmet also protected the Kraken from Gorgon's stone gaze, though that may have just been by dint of preventing eye contact.Jake Fury as Scorpio
Zodiac Key: The Key is an extra-dimensional device that can project powerful blasts of an unknown energy, erect force shields, and create clone bodies or android duplicates of its possessor.
